Meet The Team

David Urban, Esq.

David advises clients in all aspects of estate planning and administration, contract law, business law and real estate sales. He is dedicated to each client’s individual needs as he guides them through the legal process.

In 2007, David served as a judicial intern to First Justice Robert W. Langlois in the Middlesex Probate and Family Court in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The following year he clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office in Denver, Colorado, where he drafted memoranda of law used in the sentencing phase of United States v. Joseph P. Nacchio (the largest insider trading case at the time). Between 2009 and 2011, David served as an Associate at two law firms in Massachusetts. The first position allowed him the opportunity to represent individual and corporate clients in a wide array of business litigation. One year later, he joined the Law Office of Frank Grimaldi in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he focused primarily on family and probate law, as well as estate planning.

Since starting Urban Law in 2011, David has worked on a wide variety of business law, estate planning, probate, and real estate cases throughout Colorado.

Scott Mayer, Esq.

Scott is an experienced litigation attorney who has practiced in trial and appellate courts for nearly 45 years.

In law school, Scott interned for the late U.S. District Court Judge Prentice Marshall. Scott started his legal career as a Cook County, Illinois Assistant State’s Attorney, where he tried civil and criminal cases. He rose to the position of Federal Litigation Supervisor leading a team of prosecutors defending Cook County against employment discrimination and civil rights suits. In 1982, Scott argued in the United States Supreme Court that the Clerk of Court for Cook County, Illinois was entitled to qualified immunity in a Section 1983 federal civil rights suit.

For over 20 years, Scott served as in-house counsel for multi-national corporations, where he advised his executive clients in labor and employment discrimination and corporate business law matters. He later served as Senior Attorney at the Chicago and Denver Law Department offices of the United States Postal Service defending the USPS and executives in federal court. Additionally, Scott has nearly 20 years of private practice experience representing employees in federal discrimination cases as an associate in several private law firms in Chicago.

In 2020, Scott joined Urban Law where he brings his litigation and corporate experience and knowledge.

Maura Cabral, Paralegal

Maura is a valuable asset to Urban Law. Her extensive experience makes her a knowledgeable resource for drafting, reviewing and managing cases in estate planning, estate administration / probate, and business formation.

Between 2006 and 2010, Maura served as a Litigation Project Assistant for Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr, one of Boston’s most prestigious law firms. Her involvement in complex litigation early in her career helped her develop an attention to detail and timeliness that is paramount in the practice of law. Maura expanded her legal knowledge at Campbell Campbell Edwards & Conroy by supporting attorneys with detailed research, accounting and case management. Maura joined Urban Law in 2015 and immediately expanded the capabilities of the firm with her strong research, drafting and follow-up.
